The purpose of this quantitative correlational study was to determine if and to what extent a statistically significant relationship exists between burnout, organizational commitment, or employee engagement with nurse turnover intentions in the Southwest United States. The Theory of Reasoned Action provided the theoretical framework for the study, associating individual attitude, perception, and social norms with behaviors. The researcher investigated and collected data assessing the relationship between the Maslach Burnout Inventory for Health and Human Services Medical Professionals, Organizational Commitment Questionnaire, and Utrecht Work Engagement Scale instruments, individually with Turnover Intentions Scale instrument. A total of seven research questions were developed. The research occurred in Arizona, California, and New Mexico via an online survey using convenience sampling as a primary technique of N = 148. Pearson's correlation coefficient analysis was utilized to measure and identify the linear associations between each data set to address the research questions. Pearson's correlation analysis results showed that employee engagement and nurse turnover intentions displayed the most prevalent statistical significance of all study data sets (r = -.727; p = <.001) with a large negative correlation. The results followed by the relationship between emotional exhaustion and nurse turnover intentions (r = .719; p = <.001), which displayed a large positive relationship. Accordingly, the research findings suggest that employee engagement and emotional exhaustion results of Pearson's correlation coefficient contain a strongest relationship with nurse turnover intentions in the Southwest United States.
