In recent years, there have been a number of exciting advances in biologic and nanoarthroscopic approaches in sports medicine, giving the clinician even more options for safe and effective minimally invasive treatments for the active patient. The second section describes the history of arthroscopy and the most recent use of nanoarthroscopy, including several novel techniques utilizing the nanoscope, such as incisionless partial medial meniscectomy, synovectomy of the knee, and single incision approaches for the anterior labrum and rotator cuff.
