What factors cause banking crisis in African countries and why is it important? I will begin my analysis here with a high level overview of the African continent as a whole, providing a short view of unique geographic characteristics (both physical and human geography) and current affairs of the world's second largest continent and one of the fastest growing economies. I'll also discuss a brief overview of the current economic situation in Africa to give some context as I explain my analysis a bit further into this paper. I hope to provide some background and perspective around where things stand currently, what the near term holds, and then take a closer look at the 'African Banking Crisis' dataset for in depth analysis of several economic factors that cause banking crises and also frame that analysis around "systemic crisis", and recession as well. When I reach the conclusion of my analysis of the banking crisis dataset, my primary aim is to identify 2 or 3 variables that impact and lead to banking crisis (run on banks, non-performing loans, insolvency, etc....) the most, as well as expose the audience to a new perspectives on Africa's unlimited human, technological, and economic potential.
