Agile methodologies are a growing trend in the Information Technology (IT) profession. Agile enables companies to contend in a rapidly changing global market and fosters innovation to adopt emerging technologies such as cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) to increase organizational competitiveness. However, Agile is not without its risks. Agile principles necessitate culture and organizational changes that can induce new stress to IT teams. While Agile has become more commonplace, little is known about its ramifications on the IT employee. As such, through a literature review, this project identified the stressors that IT employees experience when operating in an Agile framework. The study also researched tools that can be used to measure these stressors. The result of this project is an understanding of the common stressors that contribute to IT employee burnout, recommended tools for measurement, an implementation plan, and a change management approach.
