Environmental and Climatic Implications of Lake Manzala, Egypt: Modeling and Assessment -- Modeling of Water Quality Parameters in Manzala Lake Using Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System and stochastic models -- Investigating the Impacts of Dredging on Improving The Water Quality and Circulation of Lake Mariout Via Hydrodynamics -- Environmental Impacts on Egyptian Delta Lakes Biodiversity: A Case Study on Lake Burullus -- Coastal Lakes as Hot Spots for Plant Diversity in Egypt -- Responses of Zooplankton to Long-Term Environmental Changes in the Egyptian Coastal Lakes -- Fisheries of Egyptian Delta Coastal Wetlands; Burullus Wetland Case Study -- Earth Observations for Egyptian coastal lakes monitoring and management -- Are the Egyptian Coastal Lakes Sustainable? A Comprehensive Review Based on Remote Sensing Approach -- Changes in Coastal Lake Dynamic System and potential Restoration -- Summary, Conclusions, and Recommendations for Egyptian Coastal Lakes and Wetlands: Climate Change and Biodiversity -- Erratum to: Earth Observations for Egyptian Coastal Lakes Monitoring and Management.
This volume investigates the challenges facing the Egyptian Northern coastal lakes, focusing on the impact of climate change, their biodiversity and sustainable management. Presenting up-to-date research, it covers the following topics: climate change and water quality modeling and their impacts on the sustainability of the lakes; the economic role of the lakes; the use of remote sensing in monitoring; and the biodiversity of the lakes with detailed discussions. Further, management strategies for the sustainable development of these valuable resources are proposed to maintain the lakes sustainability. The book closes with a concise summary of the conclusions and recommendations presented in the preceding chapters. As such, it offers an invaluable resource for the academic community and postgraduate students, as well as for environmental managers and policymakers.
