Domestic terrorism crimes involve identity theft committed by a few criminals in environments that do not see many victims and without physical harm. This study focused on Colorado Springs. Colorado Springs used to be a small town with military bases. However, Colorado has legalized recreational marijuana, and the population is increasing rapidly. Also, the state's lack of specific anti-terrorism laws and the limited powers of federal law enforcement agencies to investigate immigrants without a court order may be one reason for its significant population growth. These factors allow identity theft-related domestic terrorism criminals to commit identity theft-related domestic terrorism crimes in Colorado Springs. The Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) role is critical in Colorado Springs. The mission of the HSI is to keep America safe by blocking and deterring domestic terrorism crimes involving identity theft in the community. To do this, law enforcement and federal law enforcement agencies in Colorado Springs must work collaboratively to apply effective technological strategies to prevent and respond to these crimes. This work requires adequate and appropriate laws, policies, and techniques. The five prominent cases of domestic terrorism crimes related to identity theft in Colorado Springs were discovered through the secondary data in this study within the realm of synthetic identity theft and financial terrorism. Based on the results of this study, appropriate strategies must be effectively utilized to prevent and respond to domestic terrorism related to identity theft in Colorado Springs.
