Despite the widely acknowledged value of accounting data for organizational performance and decision-making, little is known about how businesses can best use their accounting information systems (AIS) to produce better results. The purpose of this study is to determine how accounting information systems (AIS) factors influence user satisfaction, and whether or not user satisfaction mediates the relationship between AIS success factors and organizational performance. This study used three different types of AIS success indicators: service quality, information quality, and system quality. An online survey was used to gather information from 147 respondents in the United States Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) sector. With the aid of SMARTPLS 4.0 software, the gathered data were examined using the Partial Least Squares approach. The results showed that user satisfaction is significantly influenced by the quality of the information and the services provided. Additionally, it was shown that user satisfaction has a favorable impact on an organizational performance and also it mediates the effects of system and service quality on organizational performance. Contrary to theoretical perspective, the results found that system quality doesn't have impact on user satisfaction and user satisfaction doesn't mediates its impact on organizational performance. The study found that job self-efficacy does not have a significant positive effect on the relationship between user satisfaction and organizational performance. This study also demonstrated that user satisfaction improves performance by interacting with information and service quality in accounting. According to the findings of this study, participants in the SME can improve user satisfaction and business performance by adopting and implementing AIS success characteristics.
