This paper describes a project that was undertaken to create an online virtual learning environment to be used in a blended learning setting working with beginning foreign language students in a high school setting to support learning in a Spanish classroom. This paper describes the research that was used to determine a need and structure for the project, the resources that were produced, the interactive elements and how they were integrated, and the supporting curriculum that was developed. It also describes the challenges that arose while developing these types of resources and considers what was discovered in the development process. Plans to implement and expand on these resources in the future with actual high school students is also referred to throughout the paper.
