Mit der Berufung 1992 arbeitete er an der Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft Mittweida (der späteren Hochschule Mittweida) bis zur Emeritierung 2006 auf den Fachgebieten Oberflächen- und Umwelttechnik. Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Jürgen Spindler studierte Chemie an der Karl-Marx--Universität in Leipzig. Von 1964 bis 1991 war er an der Ingenieurschule Mittweida, bzw. Ingenieurhochschule Mittweida, tätig und promovierte an der TH Karl-Marx-Stadt. Mit seiner Berufung 1992 arbeitete er an der Hochschule Mittweida in den Lehrgebieten Werkstoffe und Oberflächentechnik bis zur Emeritierung 2006.
