Der Band bietet einen Einblick in aktuelle Diskussionen der Sozialen Arbeit. Er wirkt an der weiteren Konturierung des „Projekts der Sozialen Arbeit“ mit, indem er Beiträge zu den Grundpfeilern versammelt, welche in den letzten dreißig Jahren als zentrale Bestandteile des Grundrisses der Sozialen Arbeit skizziert wurden. Soziale Arbeit kommt damit hinsichtlich ihrer Ausgangspunkte und Herausforderungen sowohl in historischer als auch in systematischer, normativer und politischer Perspektive in den Blick.
