Die zunehmende Komplexität mechatronischer Systeme steht im Zielkonflikt mit kürzeren Entwicklungszyklen, der mithilfe skalierbarer, digitaler Untersuchungsmethoden teilweise aufzulösen ist. Dies erfordert eine durchgängig anwendbare, digitale Entwicklungsplattform einschließlich geeigneter Untersuchungsmethoden, sodass datenbasierte Entscheidungen getroffen werden können.
