在實驗中我們製作出萬花筒圖斑的液晶光柵。樣本為偶氮染料摻雜向列型液晶之水平排列液晶樣本,利用特製的多孔光罩達到簡化綠光雷射之多光干涉的實驗架設,利用在實驗架設中加入TN (twisted nematic)樣本來實現左右旋圓偏振干涉之偏振光,利用了偶氮染料分子照光後會轉向至垂直光偏振方向並吸附在基板的特性,染料分子經賓主效應拉動液晶分子產生不同的液晶排列,因而製作出萬花筒圖斑的液晶光柵。我們使用了紅光雷射量測液晶萬花筒圖斑偏振光柵的繞射圖、電壓對穿透度曲線(T-V curve)及不同偏振對繞射點的影響,使用2孔光罩時可以達到最高的一階繞射效率。.

In our experiment, we fabricated a liquid crystal (LC) grating with kaleidoscope patterns. The sample was an azo-dye-doped nematic LC sample with homogeneous alignment layers. We used a specially designed porous photomask to simplify the setup for multi-beam interference with green laser light. By incorporating a twisted nematic (TN) sample into the setup, left- and right-handed circularly polarized light interference was achieved. Utilizing the characteristic of azo dye molecules, which reorient to the direction of vertically polarized light and adsorb on the substrate upon illumination, the dye molecules induced different LC alignments through the guest-host effect, thereby fabricating a LC grating with kaleidoscope-like patterns. We used a red laser to measure the diffraction pattern of the LC kaleidoscope grating, the voltage-transmittance curve (T-V curve), and the effect of different polarizations on the diffraction points. Using a two-hole photomask, the highest first-order diffraction efficiency could be achieved..
