Thailand is located in the 10/40 Window, an area of the world that traditionally has little to no access to the Gospel. Roughly two-thirds of the world's population lives in this region. Many governments in the 10/40 Window are formally or informally opposed to Christianity, but Thailand is one of the few countries that is completely open. The Gospel has been proclaimed in Thailand by Protestants since 1816. Although the gospel has been proclaimed for 206 years, Protestant Christianity is still at 0.76 percent of the Thai population. According to Martin in August of 2020, the number of Protestant Christians was 498,992 and the number of churches was 6,279. For Thais, coming to know the Lord is not easy. Understanding and developing their faith takes a long time. Therefore, Christianity has not been successful in penetrating Thailand yet.Nevertheless, Christianity has contributed to the advancement of Thai society in many areas such as printed media, health care, and education. Christianity has aided and founded hospitals, schools, and universities. The influence of Christian belief also impacted Thai law in the Constitution allowing the freedom to believe in the Christian religion (Dahlfred and McGilvary 25). Thankfully, some Thais wholeheartedly came to Christ. With full submission to God, they eagerly followed his call in bringing more Thais to come and have personal relationships with him. Therefore, this dissertation study looks for the best practices of Christian ministries which are most effective in raising godly leaders who are reaching and discipling people in Thailand to fully become Jesus' disciples and finish the task in Thailand. Hence this study seeks out motivations and sources of godly ministry leaders that sustains their enthusiasm and power in ministry in this spiritually dry land and who are driven to help fulfill the Great Commission in Thailand through evangelism, discipleship, small groups, social work, and church planting. The results will indicate the motivations, sources, people, and methods which help build Thai leaders' faith and encourage them to grow strong in proclaiming the Gospel and continually building other leaders to expand God's Kingdom. The gathered results will be used to establish methods, processes, and platforms to accelerate evangelism and discipleship that will raise more spiritual leaders and, in turn, accelerate the expansion of his Kingdom.
