Blockchain technology emerged in 2008 and became a highly talked about technology. Blockchain technology offers better transparency and resolves trust-related issues between unknown parties. Everyone expected a revolutionary change in how transactions will be conducted in different domains (Kamble et al., 2019). Despite the benefits discussed in the literature review, blockchain technology adoption has been slow. This quantitative study addressed the lack of enough study concerning blockchain technology adoption by information technology organizations on the east coast of the USA. The purpose was to determine the factors that affect information technology professionals' decision to adopt blockchain technology using Technology Acceptance Model as a theoretical framework. The study determined if there is a correlation between perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, perceived benefit, perceived security risks, and blockchain adoption. This study used a survey instrument and collected data from Information technology (IT) organizations on the east coast. The sample size of 83 was determined using the G* Power formula, and these 83 responses were used to analyze the relationships between dependent and independent variables. Survey results were analyzed using Pearson's Correlation to determine if there were a correlation between decision-maker's perception of IT investments and blockchain adoption. Analyses results showed a significant relationship between perceived usefulness, perceived benefit, perceived ease of use, and blockchain adoption in the USA. However, there was no correlation between perceived security risks and blockchain adoption.
