Dementia is a major challenge that individuals face in the 21st century. Over 115 million people will be affected by this disease in the next 30 years. The symptoms of dementia range from mild to severe and persistently deteriorate without appropriate treatment. This research explored the implementation of a multimodal approach to assist with dementia to support a better quality of life. Throughout this research, a comprehensive search was completed across several databases to obtain articles that met the criteria for inclusion. Participants from the 130 articles reviewed included people living with dementia and caregivers of all age groups, races, and levels of functioning. The data collected for this review included the use of various analysis tools such as the PRISMA-P. The researcher conducted a thematic analysis of multimodal approaches to assist with some of the common symptoms of dementia and cognition. Several authentic strategies for treating behavioral and psychological symptoms and preserving cognition in people with dementia were identified. Additional research in the field of psychophysiology is essential due to discoveries that link the body, brain, multiple mental processes, and dementia.
