This paper will discuss the management of healthcare employees who undergo gender transition and propose ways to navigate the transition within the work environment while retaining the employee and keeping a supportive work environment. Workplace culture is changing at a rapid pace and diversity trends are always evolving. Health care is a very progressive field and involves many people from many backgrounds. Managing and supporting transgender employees is an important skill to have for any leader, and with that come many considerations that will seem new to many people but are important to be aware of. These considerations will be discussed in this paper with explanations of their importance and possible outcomes. It will also explain ways to continually monitor the well-being of the workplace culture with a focus on connecting with the individuals affected or potentially affected by the change.
