This dissertation examines philosophical, practical, and theological perspectives of AI's implications as a tool of work. Despite positive aspects, AI quietly centralizes power, political advantage, and profit in the hands of a small and specific grouping of governance and corporate interests, each holding their own agendas. Through process and product, AI is cunningly wielded against people and planet. From a theological perspective, AI follows and amplifies the negative constructs and consequences found in Scripture's thematic presentation of Babylon. These implications call for Christian understanding and engagement in the present AI moment but also an awareness of future possibilities.
