Mirror Installation is a motion capture-based interactive installation. Within the subculture of virtual idols, many young people prefer to have virtual idols as partners in order to avoid the real-life costs of relationships. They enjoy the feeling of being subservient to virtual idols in the virtual world. In my installation, the audience acts as a lonely person standing in front of a TV. They can make gestures which the idol on the screen will follow and interact with, but physical contact is not possible. The installation ultimately reveals that all interactions with the idol are imagined, as the idol is not a real individual.
