Previous research on corporate governance and cybersecurity risk management has focused primarily on large for-profit organizations; however, the present study was significant because it included an investigation of cybersecurity risk management and cyber resilience policy and practice decisions within the context of the non-profit organization industry sector. The purpose of this exploratory single case study was to explore business strategies non-profit organization leaders use to implement cybersecurity risk management procedures to promote cyber resilience decisions. The research goal was to gain an understanding of nonprofit organization business leaders experiences and perspectives about cybersecurity risk management procedures and cyber resilience decisions. A stratified purposeful research sample of six non-profit organization business leaders, one board of directors president, three board of directors members, and two executive leadership team members, from the non-profit organization were recruited based on the position they held within the non-profit organization. The data sources for this case study consisted of a combination of in-depth semi-structured virtual interviews with three board of directors members, two executive leadership team members, and one board of directors president. Three emergent themes produced from the audio cloud recorded interview transcripts included: a. hardware security protection methods, b. managed security services protection methods, and c. software security protection methods. One important recommendation brought forward in the case study analysis was that leaders and practitioners might mitigate managerial and operational risks associated with cybersecurity risk management procedures to promote cyber resilience decisions through the development of a strategic risk management incident response plan.
