In order to combat climate change and improve climate resiliency, advances in climate-driven technologies are necessary. One promising solution is dynamic windows for fenestration applications, which would enable reversible user control over the flow of light and heat through transparency modulation. Dynamic windows based on Reversible Metal Electrodeposition (RME) can achieve the high durability, color neutrality, low haze, fast switching speeds, and low-cost manufacturing required for commercial "smart" windows. This dissertation presents a pulsed deposition approach for reversible metal plating that will enable greater modulation of heat and light for RME-based dynamic windows with cycle-to-cycle control of the optical properties. The results demonstrate the ability to control nucleation and growth of the metal film, resulting in greater optical tuning.
