漢承秦制，立博士學官，先秦儒家的子學，在西漢時期，開始向經學發展。韓嬰最為最早的專經博士之一，與其所代表的韓詩學派，與同時活躍的另兩家今文詩學派，立意與表達方式頗為不同。《韓詩外傳》作為韓嬰與韓詩學派目前唯一保存完整的代表性著作，集中展現了韓詩學派的學術觀點與風格特色。為了在漢初風行一時的黃老道家思想中爭取儒學的一席之地，韓嬰審時度勢，積極與中央皇權結合，吸納道、法、陰陽諸說，精心設計了自己的學術，提出了一套柔性見長的、實用性強的儒術。韓嬰從春秋禮樂文明中攫取靈感，針對漢初地方諸侯王與軍功權臣強勢的社會問題，在《韓詩外傳》中對為臣之道委婉地提出了要求。韓嬰指出：天下之定，名分為本，臣子應當恪守其分，尊君主遵臣道；並為王侯與群臣們樹立周公等春秋賢臣形象以垂範世人。同時，韓嬰以春秋時期賢王明君為例，勸諫漢皇溫和地對待諸侯王與臣子，輕刑罰慎改革；更重要的是寬嚴相濟、鬆緊有度，謹守向臣子退讓的底線，緊握權力核心，保證政權的完整與集中。在精神層面上，韓嬰又修訂豐富了春秋時期「禮」與「孝」的內涵，著重突出其中的情感因素，強調其中的先天人倫綱常意義，再進一步引申至後天的社會政治倫常，為力量薄弱的中央皇權提出了一種以情感人、以柔克剛的化解矛盾之法，鞏固大一統的中央集權。而為了增強其觀點的可接受度，避免無謂的學理衝突，韓嬰吸收了一定的黃老道家、名法家、陰陽家等漢初時興各派的理念，或以各派都能夠接受的公共范例為證，進而豐富了韓詩學說的深度與廣度。在韓嬰的努力經營下，韓詩學派逐漸在漢代立足，為日後儒學的復興奠定了基礎，體現了西漢今文經學與現實政治結合密切的特點，對學術史與政治史都具有深遠的影響。

520 $a Inherited from the Qin system, the system of doctoral scholars was established in Han Dynasty. The study of Confucianism in the pre-Qin period began to develop into the study of the classics in the Western Han period. Han Ying was one of the earliest doctors of specialized scripture, and Han shi waizhuan, which represented his schloar, was quite different from the other two schools of poetry which were active at the same time in terms of conception and expression. As the only complete representative work of Han Ying, Han shi waizhuan concentrates on the academic viewpoints and style of the Han's Poetry. In order to gain a place for Confucianism among the Huang Lao Taoism, which was popular in the early Han Dynasty, Han Ying took advantage of the current situation and actively integrated with the central imperial authority, elaborated his own doctrine, and proposed a flexible-based and practical Confucianism. Han Ying took inspiration from the Spring and Autumn Ritual and Music Civilization, and addressed the social problems of the local feudal lords and the powerful military officials in the early Han Dynasty. In his work, Han Ying pointed out the following points. The world is ruled by Identities, and powers should abide by them, local feudal lords should respect the emperor and follow his ways. Meanwhile Han Ying build up the image of the Duke of Zhou and other virtuous official in feudal court in the Spring and Autumn Period for the world. Besides, he advised the emperor to be gentle with his powerful officials and feudal lords, to be lenient in punishing and reforming, to be lenient and to be generous in dealing with them, but to hold the bottom line of concession to his officials and feudal lords, to hold the core of power, and to ensure the integrity and concentration of power. In the spiritual aspect, Han Ying enriched the connotation of "ritual" and "filial piety" in the Spring and Autumn Period, emphasizing the emotional element and the significance of the innate ethnical framework, which was further extended to the social and political ethics of the future. In order to enhance the acceptability of his ideas and avoid unnecessary theoretical conflicts, Han Ying absorbed the ideas of the various schools of thought of the early Han Dynasty, such as the Huanglao Taoism, the Legalism, and the Yin-Yang, and enriched the depth and breadth of Han's theory with public examples acceptable to all schools. Thanks to his tireless efforts, the Han's Poetry was gradually established in the Han Dynasty, and it embodied the characteristics of the close integration between scriptures and politics in Western Han, which laid the foundation for the revival of Confucianism in the future.
