The Performance Diagnostic Checklist (PDC-HS) is an assessment tool that has gained great popularity in the workplace to improve employee behavior and performance. The PDC-HS was designed for human service settings such as educational services and clinics. Vast research has attested to the effectiveness of using the PDC and the PDC-HS in their respective settings. Both assessments are empirically based and prescribe useful interventions across various job settings. This study aimed to use the PDC-HS as an informant tool to select organizational behavior management (OBM) strategies designed to help a group of stylists increase their completion of tasks related to their workstations. The principal investigator determined the OBM strategies used for this study based on the PDC- HS reported results. This combination of OBM strategies was heterogeneous, including antecedent-based strategies (e.g., training, goal-setting, and a brainstorming meeting with the principal investigator for problem-solving) and consequence-based strategies (e.g., written and graphic feedback). There is scant OBM research on cosmetic salons, so extending research in this type of setting was significant.
