While many nations have green building regulations, a lack of understanding of why users demonstrate varying levels of satisfaction with green buildings, limits societies' advancement toward reaching acceptable green levels. This research effort defended and empirically tested a comprehensive theoretical and managerial model of Green Satisfaction of Building (GSB) whose determinants are: Green Awareness of Building (GAB), Green Perceived Quality of Building (GPQB), Green Perceived Risk of Building (GPRB), and environmental concern. Data collection was accomplished via two Virtual Reality (VR) mechanisms; one in person (In-Person VR method); the other using high-definition recordings of VR (VR Recording method). Both means depicted models of two almost identical buildings; one with normal and the other with green features. In-Person VR participants were invited from participants that were working in Southern California. VR Recording participants were conducted from the researcher's connections on LinkedIn and Facebook pages via web-based data collection procedures. After viewing the In-Person or VR Recording simulations, participants answered a survey instrument measuring the model under investigation. The study also tested for statistically significant differences in responses between the In-Person and VR Recording delivered samples. For each hypothesis, this study not only demonstrated the relationships via the literature review but also proved they are statistically significant. The results achieved from data analysis via Smart-PLS demonstrated that an individual's GPQB partially mediates the positive effect of GAB on the GSB. In addition, an individual's GPRB partially mediates the positive effect of GAB on the GSB. Also, the results showed an individual's environmental concern moderates the positive effect of GPQB on GSB. Regarding the control variable (i.e., virtual reality or recording), the results of Multi-Group Analysis (MGA) in Smart-PLS showed the significant difference between the two groups is only in the relationship between GAB and GPQB. To assess the effect of the "AGE" as another control variable in the model (i.e., the group includes participants over 45 years old versus the group includes participants under 45 years old), the results of the MGA and Parametric test showed there are significant differences between two specific age groups regarding the relationships between environmental concern and GSB as well as between GAB and GPQB.
