The purpose of this quantitative correlational predictive study was to determine if and to what extent the factors of the Short Supervisory Relationship Questionnaire (safe base, reflective education, and structure) predict social workers' evidence-based practice attitudes as measured by the Evidence-Based Practice Attitudes Scale in the United States. The supervisory alliance model and the diffusion of innovation theory provided the theoretical foundation. Convenience sampling was used to collect data from 106 social workers in the United States. Multiple regression analysis was used for both research questions. The results from the first research question did not demonstrate statistically significant results. The safe base, reflective education, and structure combined did not statistically predict EBP attitudes in social workers in the United States (F(3, 102) = 1.025, p = .385, R2 = .029, adj. R2 = .001). The results from the second research question did not demonstrate statistically significant results. Neither safe base (β = .324, t = -1.747, p = .084, 95% CI [-.015 to .241], f2 = 0.03), nor reflective education (β = -2.60, t = -1.106, p = .271, 95% CI [-.200 to .057], f2 = 0.03), nor structure (β = -.001, t = -.004, p = .997, 95% CI [-.098 to .098], f2 = 0.03) individually predict the EBP attitudes of social workers in the United States. The failure to reject the null hypothesis in both research questions demonstrates that exploring other factors that predict EBP attitudes among social workers is needed.
