Leadership development represents an essential factor for unlocking the true potential. It helps to equip leaders within employees with the necessary knowledge and skills to meet the current and future needs of the organization. The purpose of the qualitative exploratory case study with an exploratory method was to explore leadership style behaviors and how they may affect employee empowerment and job satisfaction through motivation, engagement, and productivity. A case study of a small non-profit business organization in Los Angeles, California, allowed for an analysis of leadership style behaviors and empowering employee practices in small business organizations. While empowerment and job satisfaction have been studied, they have not been addressed from the perspective of leadership style. A semi-structured one-on-one phone interview was conducted with ten employees of a small organization in administrative, support, and management positions with two years of experience in an office setting and participants 21 years of age or older. The audio recording of the interview and the use of Nvivo and Microsoft Excel ensured software accuracy in data collection and analyses. Three central themes that would have contributed to leadership style behaviors and empowering employees and job satisfaction emerged from the analyses of the data obtained from the study: (a) employees in this organization feel empowered and engaged through positive leadership behaviors; (b) leaders in this organization communicate openly; and (c) there is mutual trust, commitment, and employee development among most leaders and employees.
