The modality of group dream work is a little-investigated method in a plethora of possible therapeutic interventions that could be used to improve psychological health in individuals. This multiple case study explored the psychological effects after participation in group dream work based on the method of Montague Ullman. The study was conducted with 25 participants who were assigned to 1 of 4 weekly group dream work sessions over 8 weeks, using Ullman's Appreciating Dreams method, also known as the Ullman method. Data from daily dream journals were analyzed, in addition to data received from semi-structured interviews conducted after the group dream work sessions. Data were also collected from the group dream work sessions, which were recorded online via Zoom. The data were evaluated using thematic analysis. The findings were that participation in the group dream work enhanced creativity in many participants; it infused a deep sense of connection between group members; it provided a container from which emotional healing could occur; participants felt a greater connection to themselves. Participants had success solving problems and developed deeper understanding for themselves and their dream world. Participants experiencing nightmares became more empowered due to learning new coping skills including lucid dreaming. Ullman's method of group dream work was beneficial to participants due to its synergy with humanistic psychological principles; it allowed for a natural bridge to form between transpersonal and clinical psychology.
