This paper explores the complex interplay between humans, nature, and technology. I begin with personal anecdotes about interacting with robot pets and comparing them to living animals, highlighting how technology influences our relationships with nature. The thesis covers themes such as the unique intelligence of animals and the overconfidence humans have in our technological creations. Through personal experiences, including raising newts and studying Eider ducks on a Norwegian island, I illustrate the deep, often overlooked connections between humans and other species. My work also incorporates artistic projects that blend these themes, emphasizing the importance of re-evaluating our perspectives on nature and technology.
