This study examined the impact of different innovation process types (organizational, product, process, and marketing) on the market share of universal banking services in Ghana. The researcher aimed to resolve theoretical conflicts regarding the most effective innovation processes for enhancing performance in Ghanaian banking. The researcher collected data from 100 managers representing four universal banks in Ghana, enabling a comprehensive understanding of the relative importance of different innovation processes in driving banking service performance. The study categorized respondents by managerial role to illuminate their distribution within the sample. The researcher used structural equation modeling as a robust analytical approach to generate path coefficients, t statistics, and p values to test the formulated hypotheses. The findings revealed that process, product, and marketing innovations are notable drivers of banks' market share, while the impact of organizational innovation on market share remains relatively limited. Remarkably, process innovation emerges as the most potent factor. Following process innovation, the impact hierarchy was marketing, product, and organizational innovation. This hierarchy of influences presents a quantified assessment of the relative significance of each innovation type in the Ghanaian banking industry. The study offers valuable guidance for strategic decision making, resource allocation, and policy formulation in the banking industry. Stakeholders at various levels can benefit from these findings, as they inform effective strategies to enhance market share and overall performance. Moreover, this research contributes to existing knowledge by shedding light on the specific innovation processes that drive improved banking service performance in Ghana. By understanding the impact of these innovation types, practitioners can make informed decisions to enhance their competitive advantage and to meet customers' evolving needs in Ghana's dynamic banking landscape better. Simultaneously, addressing the challenges of organizational innovation is vital to harnessing its full potential and driving market share growth. By effectively understanding and leveraging these different innovation process types, banks can position themselves for sustainable success in the competitive Ghanaian banking industry. This study provides a foundation for future research to address these complexities and to optimize the utilization of innovation processes within the banking industry.
