上世紀八十年代初，香港人得知香港宗主權將要變易，當時，中國政治領袖承諾五十年不變；可是，很多香港人對這「不變」的承諾存疑，於是想像可能的變，或以「變」來對應這可能，又或以「變」來對抗「不變」中的「變」，尋求某些東西不變。本研究期望透過研究基督教這較小群體在這些「變」中的反應，為整體社會轉變提供可作類比的分析，並以基督教信仰視點協助擴闊對香港社會近數十年社會轉變的理解。本研究以香港基督教群體為對象，以郭乃弘、楊牧谷及平安福音堂為探討實例，整理他們怎樣以多種多樣的「變」來應對「不變」。本研究會以泰勒(Charles Taylor)的社會想像(social imaginary)理論為主要分析工具，探討這三實例社會想像中的道德秩序、社會形式等元素，並以數種身份理論作輔助，研究他們怎樣透過建構角色身份與鑄合主體性來要求受眾呈現其中的道德秩序，以達成他們鼓吹的社會想像，準備應變。本研究會指出這些建構的角色與鑄合的主體性帶有強烈的對抗性質，但對抗的對象不單是促使轉變的中國政權，各社會想像之間的身份與主體性也互相對抗，於是呈現對抗的多樣性。本研究最後以「國家日崇拜」事件呈現這難以避免的互相對抗，並加入後殖民神學的討論，說明香港回歸期中基督教群體撕裂愈來愈深的原因，並提出若要求「多元的合一」，必須先有道德秩序的「合一」。

520 $a At the time Hong Kong people were notified that the sovereignty of Hong Kong would be returned to China's governance, i.e. early 80's of last century, the political leaders of China government promised that Hong Kong would remain unchanged for 50 years after 1977. However, many Hong Kong people were in doubt of this promise and imagined the possible changes. Some also proposed changes to counter the possible changes in this "unchanged", or resistant to these possible changes in order to keep something unchanged. This thesis expects to investigate the responses of Hong Kong Christian society upon this issue, and, consequently, provide an insight for analogical analysis for the whole society. Moreover, an investigation with the religiosity of Christianity may broaden the horizon of understanding of the social changes of the past few decades in Hong Kong, particularly on the social tearing phenomenon. The "speech acts" of Kwok Nai Wang, Arnold M.K. Yeung and Peace Evangelical Churches will be analyzed to see what changes they were proposed as a response to the possible changes when 1997 approaching. Charles Taylor's social imaginary theory will be used as the chief tool for the analysis. With this theory, the moral orders and social forms inside the "speech acts" can be discovered. Identity theories will also be used to investigate how they constructed role identities and constitute subjectivity for Christians which help them to facilitate the moral order, and hence, the achievement of their social imaginaries. This thesis will indicate the role identities constructed and the subjectivities constituted carry the properties of resistance and these resistances are diverse. Those role identities and subjectivities are not just used to resist against the China political power, they also resist against each other among themselves. A case study on "National Day Worship Service", which occurred just before 1997, will be used to illustrate this phenomenon and demonstrate the fissures within Christian society were deeper when 1997 approaching. Post-colonial theology will be used to finalize this thesis. These theologies will help to point out the unity in moral order is essential for "unity in diversity".
