This research introduces a theoretical framework to scrutinize the decision-making processes of consumers regarding the use of Smartphone Contactless Payment applications in the Casual Dining Restaurant sector. The study amalgamates empirical evidence with constructs that integrate cognitive and attitudinal variables in the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology 2 (UTAUT2), and the Innovation Resistance Theory (IRT) pertinent to Smartphone Contactless Payment applications in the Casual Dining Restaurant industry. To examine the proposed conceptual model, data were amassed via an online survey conducted through Amazon Mechanical Turk. A total of 885 questionnaires were employed for the analysis of data. Confirmatory Factor Analysis was initially utilized to authenticate the underlying structure for a set of observed variables. The results from the measurement model demonstrated that the variables of this study encompassed a satisfactory level of reliability and validity. Upon validation of the measures, Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was employed to ascertain the validity of the proposed model and the hypotheses. The current investigation's outcomes demonstrated that the suggested theoretical construct exhibited a robust predictive capacity for intentions. A multitude of intricate domains, encompassing cognitive, attitudinal, motivational, habitual, and emotional processes, influenced the decision-making mechanisms of customers regarding the deployment of mobile applications within the Casual Dining Restaurant sector.Specifically, the antecedent variables integrated into the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology 2 (UTAUT2) and combined with Innovation Resistance Theory, were instrumental in shaping the adoption decisions of Casual Dining Restaurant patrons concerning Smartphone Contactless Payment applications. The outcomes of the present investigation offer substantial enlightenment for both researchers and stakeholders in the Casual Dining Restaurant sector. From a theoretical standpoint, this research augments the theoretical evolution of behavioral constructs pertaining to the acceptance of Smartphone Contactless Payment within the Casual Dining Restaurant industry.Specifically, this study signifies a preliminary stride towards cultivating a more comprehensive comprehension of consumer interactions and perceptions concerning Smartphone Contactless Payment applications. From a pragmatic perspective, the results derived from this investigation would be beneficial for strategists in the formulation of strategic blueprints and the execution of efficacious mechanisms to incentivize consumers towards the utilization and acceptance of Smartphone Contactless Payment applications.
