The purpose of this thesis is to shed light on the place of visual generative artificial intelligence within cinema. Historically, the film industry has always adapted to technological advancements to continuously enhance the cinematic experience. In these efforts though, there are always areas of the industry that thrive and areas that suffer. With the emergence of new artificial intelligence and machine learning technology, I seek to explore the scope of available A.I. tools and how it may compare to human-made cinema. Using a well-known human-made cinema character Steamboat Willie, commonly known as Mickey Mouse, my project will explore how visual generative A.I. tools are able to reimagine and reinvent human made cinema.
