This research was intended to answer the guiding question: what are aging adults' perceived barriers for accessing health related services? This research utilized a qualitative and quantitative interview method to examine older adults' perceived barriers when accessing health related services. Interviews were conducted with a total of ten participants aged 60 and older. The results produced major findings, all of which contribute to a complete answer to the research question. The first finding, based on the data collected, revealed that language barriers are common when accessing services and influence accessibility to services. However, factors such as assistance with translation and applying for services were found to be beneficial to people with a language limitation. Findings relating to a lack of basic knowledge about services revealed that most respondents did not know about services available to them and lacked knowledge of the application process. In addition, findings relating to additional barriers experienced included lack of interpreters, length of time to receive services and having to use technology.
