Network access in remote and rural areas is one of the areas that has been a major interest of companies in recent years. The need for a network/internet has been a key enabler to enable growth in terms of knowledge, income, and many more. Although terrestrial solutions are there in place to tackle the problem of extending the range to include such secluded areas. The problem comes in when there is a big cost to suffice this unavailability of proper network-extending infrastructure. With this work, we propose a simulated environment wherein we aim to resolve the WiFi connectivity issues in a remote setting, by providing satellite internet via an unmanned aerial-vehicle (UAV). Non-terrestrial satellite-based networks have highly evolved over time. As discussed above, in order to establish a satellite internet-based communication service for a rural setting, expensive installation equipment, and complex infrastructure setup are required. The work presented in the research tries to eradicate the need for establishing ground stations by deploying Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) with a LEO satellite backhaul for wide area internet connectivity in a rural or remote setting. Through this research, we compute end-to-end delay and throughput considerations while studying the effect of network parameters such as net packet drop, mobility, frequency of operation and transmission gain for a wireless network, where-in the UAV collects data from different sources and formats. The research is built over mobile ad-hoc networks (MANET) modules and ad-hoc routing protocols in (Network Simulator) NS3.The need for the internet or network for every individual is no doubt a crucial element. It opens doors to applications that bridge the digital divide and also improve the quality of life for people living in rural areas. With this work along with the use of technology the motivation is to get access to information, education, entrepreneurship, tele-health and a plethora of opportunities to the people living in the rural areas.
