Informed by the behavioral model of service use, this study examines factors that predict Dominican immigrants' use of mental health services in the United States, specifically the factors that predict the utilization, initiation, participation, and completion of mental health services. Utilizing a correlational study design, this study recruited and surveyed 86 Dominican immigrants via an online questionnaire. Participants' responses were analyzed using descriptive, correlation, and multiple linear regression statistics. Findings revealed a negative relationship between levels of perceived need related to mental and physical health and levels of utilization of mental health services, but no significant association between access to enabling resources and mental health services and levels of utilization of mental health services in Dominican immigrants. Acculturation status has a significant impact on the relationship between perceived needs related to mental and physical health and the utilization of mental health services. Implications for social work theory, practice, education, policy, and research are discussed.
