本研究將知識份子的政治角色研究代入大學教師群體，觀察大學教師作為知識份子的政治角色扮演。研究選取中國一所省屬S大學作為個案，綜合運用社會學中實證的、闡釋的和批判的研究方法，對三個研究問題進行解釋與討論：第一，大學教師有多重認同，並同時扮演三種不同的政治角色，包括體制外專業角色、非體制批判角色和體制內有機角色，但角色扮演並不均衡；第二，由於角色扮演的不均衡，且以體制內有機角色為主，使得大學教師的政治角色扮演存在倫理困境與雙重人格；第三，造成以上問題的原因可從結構因素、文化因素和個體選擇三方面進行解釋。希望我們的研究能夠幫助人們理解作為知識份子的教師們是否以及如何與當代中國的政治對話。也希望本文能對知識份子社會學、高等教育社會學有所貢獻。

520 $a This research investigates the political roles of university professors in Chinamainland. Through positivist, interpretive, and critical analysis of S University, arediscovered that:Firstly, professors have multifaceted identities and engage in synchronous politicalroles as non establishment/ professional, contra establishment/critical andestablishment/organic roles, and most of them take establishment/organic role andnon establishment/ professional role. Secondly, since unbalance role playing amongdifferent roles, professors would have ethic dilemma and personality split. Thirdly,we can explain such phenomenon from structure, culture and personal choice threeaspects.This thesis aims to contribute to the sociology of intellectuals and higher educationby illuminating how professors, as intellectuals, engage in contemporary Chinesepolitical discourse.
