This quantitative study explores the implementation of search engine optimization (SEO) strategies by YouTube content creators to achieve high rankings in search engine results and improve subscriber counts, views, and overall audience engagement. The study aims to understand the strategies employed by YouTubers to enhance audience retention and identify the most useful tools for optimizing YouTube content. The purpose is to investigate factors contributing to high search engine rankings and increased engagement on YouTube channels. The study follows an exploratory research design, utilizing a stratified random sample of 202 participants who completed a 39-item Likert-type scale survey on the Qualtrics survey site. The survey assessed participants' perceptions of YouTube SEO. The findings indicate that factors like age, gender, and experience influence content creators' strategies. Moreover, the choice of video length and utilization of YouTube optimization techniques significantly impact audience retention strategies. A regression model explains a significant portion of the variance in overall search engine optimization scores. The study contributes to understanding the strategies and tools that can help YouTubers optimize their channels for better rankings, increased viewership, and improved audience engagement.
