Gender role orientations as explanatory factors for the structural integration of refugee women in Germany -- Attitudes and values of young men with and without migration and refugee history with regard to gender and equality: Implications for society and social integration in Germany -- "You've gotten used to the headscarf!" On dealing with cultural difference in a large housing estate in Hamburg -- Family in postmigrant society: attitudes towards family life in a large housing estate -- Values and evaluation procedures of young people in a postmigrant context: exemplary analysis on positioning in interviews -- Translation in German hospitals: A fundamental and ethical problem.
This anthology deals with changes in values, norms, and attitudes in our society, which is increasingly characterized by cultural diversity. Embedded in the current debate about a "post-migrant society", the contributions present findings that have emerged within the framework of various research projects of the BMBF funding line "Migration and Social Change". They deal with differences and similarities regarding the values and norms of people with and without a migratory background, the connections between values and integration mechanisms, and many more. The contributions focus on values and norms concerning family, gender relations, education, and religion. The English translation of this book, originally in German, was facilitated by artificial intelligence. The content was later revised by the authors for accuracy. The Editors PD Dr. Astrid Wonneberger is a social/cultural anthropologist and lecturer at the Department of Social Work (M.A. Applied Family Studies) at the HAW Hamburg. From 2018-2022 she was employed as research associate in the BMBF project "POMIKU". Dr. Sabina Stelzig is a sociologist and lecturer at the Department of Social Work (M.A. Applied Family Studies) From 2018-2022 she was employed as research associate in the BMBF project "POMIKU".
