As an exploratory ethnography, this work provides a rich description and analysis of students' experiences in an academic makerspace. Its findings are intended to inform the design and administration of this space and others like it with the voices and perspectives of the people who enliven them. Topics covered are how students first discovered the space, their motivations, needs and wants once there, views of the space, and how they worked together within it.
