For the past few decades, the rapid increase in the divorce rate of Koreans has been one of the most serious social phenomena raised in Korea. Korean churches and Christian families are not an exception to this phenomenon. Unfortunately, despite the large number of Christian families suffering from being broken, Korean churches are unconcerned or do not know how to help those families.

As a result of the problem shown above, the children of divorce become the most severely affected victims. Regardless of their desires, the children have to deal with the divorce of their parents and the consequences that arise from it. Furthermore, the change in the relationship between the children and their parents is the most influential change brought about by parental divorce. Especially, the separation of parents followed by their divorce highly affects the children's behavioral, emotional, and spiritual growth.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of parental divorce on the relationship between parents and children, the religiosity of the Korean Christian children who experience parental divorce, and the effect parental divorce has on a child's God.

To explore these issues, a survey was conducted in which ninety-six children participated. This sampling included children of intact families and divorced families. The participants were Korean Christians between the ages of seven to twenty-four years. The instruments used for the survey were the IPPA-R (the revised version of Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment) and the GIS (God Image Scale). In addition, the researcher examined the necessity of divorce care programs in Korean churches, the potential for Korean churches to improve the relationship between children and parents, and developing a positive image of God.
