The focus of this research study is the transition of the Philippine Mission of The Christian and Missionary Alliance of the USA and Canada (PM-CMA) from their partnership with The Christian and Missionary Alliance Churches of the Philippines (CAMACOP). The PM-CMA finalized that transition in 2006, 105 years after it began its work in the nation. CAMACOP had become a viable church that was able to continue to work of evangelizing the Philippine nation. Mission literature and biblical principles are examined with a view to understanding the best approach to transitioning a mission from a nation. Missionary couples who transitioned from the field between 1997 and 2006, as well as key church leaders who served during that same time period, are interviewed in order to ascertain how the church, the missionaries, and the task of evangelization had been advanced or hindered after the mission's departure. Conclusions and recommendations are made for the purpose of making better mission-church transitions in the future, which include: Plan ahead for completing the task of the mission. Collaborate as a mission with the church leadership in planning. Do not forget to plan to work together for ongoing apostolic mission.
