Immigration, citizenship, identity, advocacy, and politics are all intricately intertwined in the United States as elsewhere. This interwoven nature creates structures through which citizens are made. Through ethnographic methods, this paper considers the process of "making citizens" in a midsized, midwestern city and a local organization concerned with immigration advocacy.
