The Olympics have been a spectacle to behold for generations. However, this Olympics would have been lost were it not for the actions of Pierre de Coubertin revitalizing the Olympics in 1896. Through his efforts the Olympics would go around the world bringing attention to athletes and their incredible feats. Because of the Los Angeles hosting the Olympics in 1932, and later 1984, the Olympics were taken to new heights unlike ever seen before. This would have not been possible were it not for members of the 1932 Los Angeles Olympic Committee William May Garland and in 1984 President of the Los Angeles Committee Peter Ueberroth. These men were capable of commercializing the Olympics and make an incredible profit never seen before.
