Thesis (M.A.)--Pacifica Graduate Institute, 2018.
Includes bibliographical references
This thesis explores Adorata as a therapeutic modality that can be used to heal symptoms of posttraumatic stress that have developed in response to childhood trauma. Children may be abused or neglected at a crucial time in the development of their personality structure. As a result, such children develop complexes and defenses that become crystallized in their psyche and impact their ability to create and sustain healthy intimate relationships well into adulthood. Hermeneutic and heuristic methodologies are used to explore Tiziana DelleRovere's therapeutic antidote to operating within these defensive psychological patterns or crystallizations by rebalancing the masculine and feminine principles within. Thesis findings illuminate how the Adorata therapeutic process facilitates clients' development of an increased ability to create and sustain healthy relationships, to perceive and protect themselves from dangerous situations, and to experience a sense of belonging, both within and outside of themselves.
