I conducted a baseline study on the sexual attitudes of sexuality professionals along five dimensions of human sexuality: (a) lesbian-gay-bisexual-transgender identities, (b) sexual infidelity, (c) sexuality education, (d) pornography, and (e) sexual double standards. The population (N = 165) consisted of members from three human sexuality professional organizations. Research question one examined the sexual attitudes of sexuality professionals. Sexuality professionals had positive attitudes toward LGBT identities, sexuality education, and pornography. Research question two examined the sexual attitudes between AASECT certified and non-AASECT certified professionals. I found that attitudes did not differ between certified and non-certified sexuality professionals within any of the five dimensions except for the dimension of pornography, in which I found that certified sexuality professionals held more negative attitudes than did non-certified subjects. Research question three examined the difference in attitudes between sexuality educators and sex therapists. I found that there were no significant differences in attitudes between sexuality educators and sex therapists in any of the five dimensions except for the dimension of sex education. I found that sexuality educators held more positive attitudes toward sex education than did sex therapists. An implication from the findings indicated a need for further research on sexuality professionals' attitudes and their effects on practice, as well as the need for research on appropriate sexuality training for sexuality professionals.
