Violence in the workplace is a topic that many of us would prefer not to have to talk about on a regular basis. It is possibly because of this reason that our inability to stop these senseless acts from happening escalating contains to be at issue. Consequently, because we have not engaged in the conversation globally, it continues to occur frequently here in the United States. Here in the United States, our inability to attack this head on has continually lead to acts of violence in the workplace which in many cases, are preventable incidents. It has become commonplace to learn about the opportunities which were missed, being reactive to these events is not good enough. And even when we learn about what we could have done to prevent these events are happening, little is done or put in place to prevent them from happening again. Many organizations today have adopted some form of additional steps in background checks for new hires; but background checks are not enough. The researcher looked at, and attempted to learn more about how management and employees feel about the workplace violence program which is in place; if there is one. How employees and management associates feel about or have confidence and their ability to react. And additionally learn more about whether or not conflict resolution training is helpful in both self-efficacy and building confidence in the workplace.

The researcher distributed a survey in which there were 106 respondents. Much was learned from the research which told a compelling story about the lack of confidence employees had in their management team's ability to respond. Consequentially, it did show that if there are tenured associates on the management team; the level confidence in that response and the self-efficacy improved drastically.
