It was unknown whether and how the use of Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) strategies in alternative campuses influenced student motivation and appropriate behavior from the perspective of the teachers. The purpose of this qualitative single case study was to explore whether and how the use of PBIS strategies influence student motivation and appropriate behavior from the perspective of the teachers. The sample was five alternative teachers. The theoretical foundations were Social Learning Theory and The Adlerian Concept. The research questions were "What specific changes are perceived in student motivation when teachers at an alternative campus utilize positive behavior intervention support strategies?", "What specific changes are perceived in student behavior when teachers an alternative campus utilize positive behavior intervention support strategies?", "What specific positive behavior intervention support strategies do teachers perceive are most effective for students at an alternative campus in order to improve students' motivation?" and "What specific positive behavior intervention support strategies do teachers perceive are most effective for students at an alternative campus in order to improve student behavior?". Sources of data were interviews, classroom observations, and questionnaires. Themes were PBIS, appropriate behavior, and motivation. Data was imported to ATLAS.ti with codes: Confidence, Knowledge, Use, Negative Effects, Positive Benefits, PBIS Strategies, and Student Responses. Teachers perceived a positive change inappropriate behavior and motivation. Future research is recommended with a larger sample size and on multiple campuses.
