Didaktisch gekonnt aufbereitet stellen Georg Schreyögg und Daniel Geiger Konzepte und Methoden zum Verständnis der Probleme der Organisationsgestaltung und zur Entwicklung fundierter Lösungen vor. Zahlreiche aktuelle Fallbeispiele illustrieren die Ansätze und regen zur praktischen Anwendung des theoretischen Wissens an. Diskussionsfragen dienen der Vertiefung des Gelernten. Für die sechste Auflage wurde das Lehrbuch vollständig überarbeitet und um zahlreiche neue Entwicklungen in der Organisationstheorie (z.B. Practice-Perspektive, Ressource-based-view) ergänzt.
