Dazu bietet es methodisch aufbereitetes Wissen zu digitalen Menschmodellen und virtueller Ergonomie. Insbesondere für Konstrukteure und Planer werden wertvolle Praxisbeispiele zum Einsatz der Menschmodelle gegeben. Dieses Lehr- und Praxisbuch vermittelt das Wissen, dass zur digitalen, rechnergestützten Arbeit mit dem Fokus ergonomischer Produkt- und Prozessgestaltung notwendig ist. Die Digitalisierung der Arbeitswelt hat die Art und Weise, wie ergonomische Gestaltung mit dem Mensch im Mittelpunkt funktioniert, wesentlich verändert. Bullinger-Hoffmann leitet die Professur Arbeitswissenschaft und Innovationsmanagement der Technischen Universität Chemnitz und arbeitet mit ihrem Team an der Gestaltung von Mensch-Technik-Schnittstellen für die Arbeits- und Lebenswelten von morgen. Das Vorantreiben anwendungsnaher Lösungen, die innovativ und breit akzeptiert sind, ist dabei zentral. Virtuelle Menschmodelle werden dabei für die Produkt- und Prozessentwicklung eingesetzt. Prof. Angelika C. Bullinger-Hoffmann hat an der Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg und der University of Pennsylvania habilitiert und an der Technischen Universität München promoviert. Dr.-Ing. Jens Mühlstedt betreute bis 2014 das Forschungsgebiet „Digitale Menschmodelle“ an der Professur Arbeitswissenschaft und Innovationsmanagement der Technischen Universität Chemnitz. Er leitete das Team Innovation Engineering und führte Industrie- und Praxisprojekte zur ergonomischen Produkt- und Prozessgestaltung durch. Für seine Promotion zu virtueller Ergonomie erhielt er den Preis des Dresdner Gesprächskreises als "hervorragender Nachwuchswissenschaftler". Jens Mühlstedt arbeitet bei der Kreativagentur designaffairs als Project Manager und Usability Engineer. Dabei führt er Kundenprojekte mit dem Schwerpunkt Mensch-Maschine-Interaktion und User Experience durch.
