Dieses Buch betrachtet die Entwicklung der funktionalen und personellen Einkommensverteilung und deren Verortung im Feld der Wirtschaftswissenschaften im Zeitablauf. Zunächst werden die gängigen theoretischen Erklärungsansätze zur funktionalen und zur personellen Einkommensverteilung dargestellt. Ansätze der Mainstream-Ökonomie werden heterodoxen Ansätzen gegenübergestellt. Hierbei werden theoretische Erklärungsansätze diskutiert und in weiterer Folge aktuelle empirische Ergebnisse betrachtet, konkret wird die Entwicklung der funktionalen bzw. personellen Einkommensverteilung in insgesamt 14 Ländern zwischen 1920 und 2015 untersucht. Die Hypothese, dass „wachsende Ungleichheit“ ein möglicher Krisenauslöser beider zu untersuchenden Krisen sei, wird mittels ökonometrischer Modelle überprüft. Im letzten Teil geht der Autor darauf ein welche ökonomischen, ethischen und sozialwissenschaftlichen Auswirkungen die aktuell zu beobachtende steigende Einkommenskonzentration hat und haben wird. Er leitete den Bereich Kapitalmärkte am Institut für Financial Management an der FHWien der WKW und ist Lektor an der Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien, an der er zuvor Wirtschaftswissenschaften studierte und 2015 im Fach Volkswirtschaftstheorie promovierte.
