The problem of traffic congestion on campuses has become critical. When most employees and students drive to campus, it means congestion within the parking lots. Such tendencies sometimes generate conflict, especially when some employees or students fail to get parking spaces. This study aimed to examine the relationship between driving to campus by students/employees and traffic congestion. The descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics regarding transit ridership, class enrollment, and parking lot inventories to show congestion on campus were explored. Some variables analyzed included transit ridership per academic level and semester, citations issued, violation types, student enrollment, and how that affected traffic congestion. Consequently, the results showed that the number of citations issued indicated whether there was increased ridership or low ridership. The results also showed that pre-Covid-19 enrollment was higher than post-Covid-19. Lot inventory counts pre- and post-Covid-19 were also high, but post-Covid-19 had many more open parking spaces than compared to other years. In conclusion, the study revealed that when more people drive to campus, it leads to traffic congestion compared to when people do not drive to campus. This study implies that universities and colleges should implement measures that prevent many people from driving to campus. Some of the measures introduced during Covid-19, together with encouraging people to take a bus or alternative means of transport, could also help to deal with the congestion challenge on college campuses.
